Michael Clinton and Hearst announced the formation of a new company, ROAR forward, a business-to-business intelligence insights and content platform and consumer membership community focused on the emerging market of “Re-Imagineers “ focused. This new 50+ demographic segment is redefining the second half of life in terms of work, passion and lifestyle. Clinton founded the company with Hearst as a partner and investor; the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

ROAR forward will provide brands and companies with business insights and information through the ROAR report, using proprietary data and research, as well as bulletins, seminars, workshops, original content and events, to shed light on the dynamically changing market demographics of people aged 50-70 to throw. Plus.

ROAR forward will also host a Re-Imagineer community through a membership platform providing content, learning modules, events and more.

“Today’s 50+ age group represents 35% of the population,” Clinton said. “As longevity increases, this group is completely redefining their future, rejecting old patterns of work and lifestyle. This includes working longer hours, becoming an entrepreneur, developing new fitness and wellness programs, and more. Government, business, media and entertainment need to understand how this group is changing all cultural patterns.”

“Re-Imagineers are driving the ‘New Longevity’ economy,” Clinton continued. “This market controls nearly 70% of all wealth in the US and accounts for 50% of consumer spending power. They have ambition and new attitudes and behaviors unmatched by any previous demographic. The goal of ROAR forward is to help businesses and our membership community better connect to this new reality.”

ROAR forward is a sequel to Clinton’s bestseller, ROAR into the second half of life, now in its third edition. He is a speaker and author on the subject of New Longevity for esquire, men health and Oprah Daily. In late 2022, DailyOM will launch a seven-lesson ROAR curriculum in partnership with Everyday Health.


Michael Clinton was named Senior Media Advisor to the CEO of Hearst in May 2019 after 21 years with the company. He has served as President of Marketing and Publishing Director of Hearst Magazines since June 2010 and a member of the Board of Directors of Hearst Corporation.

Clinton joined Hearst in October 1997 and was appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and Publishing Director of Hearst Magazines in 2001. Prior to that, Clinton was executive vice president of Condé Nast Publications, where he led sales and marketing for the company’s 15 magazines national titles, including Fashion, vanity fair and Architecture Digest. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Group Sales and Marketing at Condé Nast, spending 10 years at GQ Magazine, including six years as editor. He began his media career at Fairchild Publications.

Clinton is the founder and president of the nonprofit organization Circle of Generosity. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Volunteers of America and a Board Member for the Starlight Children’s Foundation and the Lifetime Television Network. He also serves as trustee for the International Center of Photography. He is also a past chair of the Association of Magazine Media (MPA). Clinton is an avid traveler and photographer and the author of 11 books.

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science, Clinton also earned a master’s degree from Pace University’s Lubin Graduate School of Business and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from the Columbia University. He is an honorary doctorate from Pace University.
